You know a Mexican spot is good when they have abuela in the corner making tortillas all day. Food is always amazing and I have been coming here for years, but it seems it's gotten pretty expensive. I went on a date and for 2 entrees and one margarita, it was over $70... I feel like that was kinda pricey for the divey kinda atmosphere... oh well, still some of the best Mexican food in Tacoma.
Run don't walk!I Idk what authentic supposed to taste like bcuz it's not my ethnicity or culture. What I do know is this does not taste like the commercial chains I'm used to. SO GOOD! Every bite was like wow, party in my mouth! We both had the mango spicy margarita and carne asada. Everything was excellent! Full of flavor! I would order a bucket of the beans alone! Oh! You can ! They cater! Service was fast and friendly. Checks all the boxes for real down to earth family food like you count on from home!
Wanted authentic Mexican food and this place does not disappoint. Prices are higher than what we are used to but it's worth it. I had a tamale and a Chili Relleno. Both were excellent. The side rice and beans were very tasty too. My husband had the combination enchiladas which was also served with 3 pieces of super tender Carne asada. Was served with freshly made tortillas too. So soft and fresh. Lots of leftovers for a second meal. This is a must-try and have.
The BEST around!! I've only ever ordered to go, however, big massive portions with reasonable prices and very polite staff!! This day and age in Tacoma, it's quite shocking and refreshing!
Just go! It's the real deal. No chips and salsa, like it should be. Order the tacos but don't get the normal chicken, steak, or pork. Live a little and try the other meats. You won't be disappointed!
Ok lots of people told me I should eat here and I finally did, pretty good food here not high end but down to earth. My torta was tasty as hell. The tacos are pretty bomb and the beans are really freaking good. It's always a good sign when the beans are impressive. If they had a bar it would be even better
Little known Hilltop GEM: WE LOVE THIS PLACE! And always make a point to stop when driving through Tacoma, even if it means we will drive it all the way back home to Seattle! Love their enchiladas but its ALL good! Great portion sizes too, even for take out Thanks for the great service
Went to. Alley Liquidators up the street for some bargains now hungry! Stopped in here to have a Chile Rellieno Al la cart! Soooo delish ( snack before dinner at home ) Hubby had half lb of Carnitas with side of tortillas. See pix. The sauce for the Chiles if just sooo perfect and spicy!! Sauped up the rest with his tortillas. And those are so fresh too!!
